Tips & Ninja Tricks
- Start a Local Developer Group on Facebook – this is a quick and easy way to keep track of attendees (invite them to join the group), invite them to future events and keep them up-to-date on your latest developer news.
- Host recurring events to to highlight new topics, discuss improvements to the Platform and allow new attendees to join in the fun.
- Get other people involved. Share the workload with volunteers, sponsors, etc. You don’t have to do it all, and attendees will be more than happy to get involved and lend a helping hand. Post a notice in the event or in your Developer Group.
- Less is more. You don’t need to go over the top to make this an awesome event. Concentrate more on the attendees and the content than all of the tiny details. This is what people will remember most and get the best value from.
- Communicate: Blog, IRC and add to the wiki – don’t hesitate to document everything.
- You may want to put someone in charge of being the ‘webmaster’ for the evening to make sure everyone gets set up properly for their needs.
- Please give Facebook at least three weeks lead time so we can support your event to the best of our ability.
