Description

In order to make it easier for users to see which applications their friends are inviting them to, we're going to consolidate invitations into a special section which will either be located in the Inbox, and/or in the Application and Games Dashboards. This will enable users to easily see which applications they are being invited to by their friends.

Details

Through our experience with other content on Facebook, we've discovered that users are more compelled to explore when a number of their friends are connected to an object, be it a friend, a group, an event, or being tagged in a photo. To make application invites more powerful, we're going to experiment with showing invites to users in aggregate. We're going to test a few different places on the site to expose this to users, including the Inbox and the Applications and Games Dashboards. Our intention is to display aggregated invitations where they are the most powerful.

Here's one way it could look, but we'll continue to update this page with more details when we have finalized the design.

We're also still finalizing exactly how invites will be implemented going forward (whether we'll continue to use fb:request-form or build a new tag). Please check back to this page for details.
