I Need a Sponsor!

Landing Financial or Non-Financial Support

  • Start by contacting local VC’s, Start-up’s or Technology companies in your area. They may be willing to donate space to hold the event, funds for snacks / beverages or they may be able to help in other ways. Use your network of contacts and don’t be afraid to ask for support from your attendees.
  • Draft a email to potential sponsors and use your contacts to help you distribute through your various connections.
  • Post a message on your event or developer group asking for a free venue or donations. One of your attendees may be apart of an organization that is willing to help. Also post your needs on your event wiki page in the Garage Calendar.
  • Offering branding opportunities for technology companies, such as a logo on the screen, demo stations, or hanging their banners, may entice sponsors. Many companies are willing to offer financial support if your event will promote their brand to talented engineers. There is also space on your sponsored event page to post logos and videos, which makes for good advertising. It may be wise to put together a ‘sponsor’ package to offer up before reaching out. Hang onto (and make copies of) any and all receipts because your sponsor company will probably need them.
  • You can also request attendees to donate a nominal fee to support event costs.

I Want to Sponsor!

How can I support a local Garage?

  • If you are a VC, Start-up or Technology company interested in hosting a Facebook Developer Garage in your offices, please let us know. This is a great opportunity to provide non-financial support to your local developer community, meet talented developers with big entrepreneurial ideas, and get involved with Facebook Platform.
  • Several Venture Capital firms have already pledged their support for the developer community by offering their offices as venues as well as other resources (such as picking up the tab for food / refreshments) for these Garages. Please contact us and we’d be happy to put you in touch with a developer host in your area.
